Internet gaming addiction symptoms

In this day and age, it is more common than not that people of all ages have addictions to gaming. With so many electronic alternatives to games such as playing on a PC, tablet, phone and many other devices,  one is bound to display at least a few of the symptoms of an internet gaming addiction. The World Health Organization has added game disorder to the  International Classification of Diseases . You may fall under this category if you are:

Thinking about gaming all or a lot of the time

- Feeling bad when you can’t play

- Needing to spend more and more time playing to feel good

- Not being able to quit or even play less

- Not wanting to do other things that you used to like

- Having problems at work, school, or home because of your gaming

- Playing despite these problems

- Lying to people close to you about how much time you spend playing

- Using gaming to ease bad moods and feelings


Negatives of social media

Despite its primitive aim to cure the boredom of teens and adults alike, social media has its downsides. Ones addiction. Many teens especially find themselves unable to get off of the app and their phones altogether because of the app's design to keep people on. Another is self-esteem issues. 

Often it is easy to get caught up in the lives of others we are surrounded by and compare ourselves to them without noticing. This can lead to self-esteem issues and a bigger obsession with social media. Overall, social media has many benefits, such as catching up with friends, both those far away and closely, though it does have many downsides.
